Princess Anene: Uzodinma’s Ex-Aide Raises Empowerment Bar Despite Dissolution

A renown Philanthropist, humanitarian and woman & Youths rights Campaigner, Princess Calista Anene-Ahmed who was appointed by Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma as his Senior Special Assistant on Social Development and Humanitarian Affairs  has sent shock waves down the spine of practicing politicians in the state with apparent twist and new dimension she  introduced to imo state politics , following her decision to continue with  numerous empowerment and skill acquisition programs she initiated while in office despite the dissolution of the body of SAs and SSAs which she was part of. 

Princess Anene-Ahmed ,who shortly after the dissolution of the Imo State expanded Executive Council,through her Social Media handle, sent out appreciation message to Gov Uzodimma for finding her worthy to serve and announced that various skill Acquisition and Empowerment programs initiated by her that were on course before their dissolution will continue alongside new programs  to be unfolded soon. 

She also called for more support for the Uzodimma led Shared Prosperity Government. 

Speaking to newsmen penultimate Weekend in her former Office, Princess Anene-Ahmed said that she saw her appointment as a platform to assist the governor in furthering the cause of humanitarian and philanthropic works she has been doing for decades and vowed that their dissolution would not stop her establishment of empowerment resource centre in Imo state ,ICT training and skill acquisition billed to take place from  Thursday this week until Third week of July 2021 because they  were already on course before their dissolution

She revealed that her resolve to carry on with the laudable programs was because of her  genuine loyalty and support for Governor Uzodimma and his 3R Shared Prosperity government which is expected of her to prove through action and words as exemplified by those programs. 

It was a beehive of activities penultimate Saturday at her former office located at former Ministry of Works, Okigwe road Secretariat as   multitude of young university graduates from the state gathered for a job fair and selection process for twenty one  employment slots  she attracted from one of the major digital television stations in the Country. According Anene, who introduced the Area Manager of Startime Organization who was busy interviewing the prospective employees,  despite their dissolution, she will continue to  assist job seekers to fill  the 21 slots in the organization. 

She said that she was able to do that because of her principal’s priority and good will ,which she believe was needed to be harnessed in the areas of employment and employment generation for teeming unemployed imo youths. 

She further stated that prior to the dissolution of the expanded executive council,  her office had initiated and distributed forms for  free ICT training  and other skill acquisition programs like  tailoring, printing, publishing, manufacturing of perfume, soaps, detergents and several others which are  billed to hold soon.

 She, surprised  her listeners when he said that those programs will continue in her present status as a private Citizen.

Meanwhile the successful applicants for the 21 job slots in the digital television had since Monday gone to Enugu to complete other formalities to ratify their absorption in the Organization as full fledged  staff.

It will be recalled that Princess Calista Anene-Ahmed whose is an icon in humantrian services and founder of Amede   Ajie Foundation for Women and Youths had since her meritorious appointment as the Senior Special Assistant to the Executive Governor of  Imo State initiated several programs which were funded by her. 

it is a big surprise not to a few that she has reaffirmed continuation of the programs  without interruption because she had promised to contribute in fighting unemployment and idleness amongst the teeming young population in the state.
